JUCY is screening at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art this winter as part of the current exhibition CONTEMPORARY AUSTRALIA: WOMEN. The screenings are in a collection of films by and about women curated by beloved film critic, Margaret Pomeranz.
I was invited to speak on a panel for the opening of the exhibition with Gillian Armstrong and Ana Kokkinos. The discussion was lead by Margaret Pomeranz. Together we represented forty years of filmmaking in Australia!
Margaret Pomeranz made the point that the Australian New Wave came during the height of feminism, which has lead to Australia having more women directors than anywhere else in the world. Well done us!
